  • Eligibility & selection criteria

    Eligibility

    To be eligible for this scholarship, you must:

    • be an Indigenous Australian* who is enrolled, or intends to enrol, in the 2024 intake of the Master of Teaching at the Melbourne Graduate School of Education, OR
    • be an Indigenous Australian* undertaking research in Indigenous education at the Melbourne Graduate School of Education

    *The status of Indigenous Australians must be confirmed by Murrup Barak, Melbourne Institute for Indigenous Development.

    Selection criteria

    • eligible applicants will be assessed on academic merit and responses to the application questions
    • preference will be given to students in the Master of Teaching (see eligibility above)
    • financial need will be taken into consideration

  • When will I know the outcome?

    All applicants will be notified of the outcome of their application by February at the latest.

What are the benefits?

A living subsidy of approximately $6,000 per year for the two-year duration of the Master of Teaching or for up to two years of your research degree, based on full-time enrollment.
