Lochrie Indigenous Australian Education Scholarship

If you are eligible for this scholarship, please apply. This scholarship supports Indigenous Australian students in the Master of Teaching or undertaking research in Indigenous Education, with up to $6,000 per year over the two-year duration of the course.   • Eligibility & selection criteria

    Eligibility

    To be eligible for this scholarship, you must:

    • be an Indigenous Australian* who is enrolled, or intends to enrol, in the 2024 intake of the Master of Teaching at the Faculty of Education, OR
    • be an Indigenous Australian* undertaking research in Indigenous education at the Faculty of Education

    *The status of Indigenous Australians must be confirmed by Murrup Barak, Melbourne Institute for Indigenous Development.

    Selection criteria

    • eligible applicants will be assessed on academic merit and responses to the application questions
    • preference will be given to students in the Master of Teaching (see eligibility above)
    • financial need will be taken into consideration

  • When will I know the outcome?

    All applicants will be notified of the outcome of their application by February at the latest.

What are the benefits?

A living subsidy of approximately $6,000 per year for the two-year duration of the Master of Teaching or for up to two years of your research degree, based on full-time enrolment.  Paid in two instalments annually following the census dates.
