    Eligibility

    To be eligible for this scholarship, you must:

    • be a first-year Painting student in the School of Art, Faculty of Fine Arts and Music
    • demonstrate financial need
    • demonstrate excellent results in studies to date

    Selection criteria

    Eligible applicants will be assessed on:

    • artistic merit
    • academic merit
    • career aspirations
    • financial need
    • likely success in completing the proposed course of study.

    Applicants will be assessed by the Director and Dean, on recommendation from the Head of School.

    As with all scholarship applications requiring demonstration of financial need, you are strongly encouraged to also submit an online Student Financial Assistance Application by their closing date. If you already have submitted a Student Financial Assistance Application in the last six months you do not need to apply again but you can update and re-submit your details before the closing date.

    Please note the Student Financial Assistance Application tool is also used for consideration for the University's Student Grants.

  • When will I know the outcome?

    Applicants can expect an outcome four weeks after the scholarship closing date.

What are the benefits?

A single payment of approximately $4,000 to each recipient.

To accept this scholarship, successful recipients are required to write a letter of thanks and provide an artistic biography for the donors or trustees. On occasion recipients will be contacted to provide a progress report.
