The Maureen Brunt Scholarship
Prof. Maureen Brunt was an Australian economist and academic who specialised in the field of competition law. She received an honorary doctorate from the University of Melbourne and was bestowed an Officer of the Order of Australia (AO) for her “services to the Trade Practices Tribunal and to education”. Prof. Brunt was only the third woman to hold a Professorial Chair in Australia and the first to do so in the field of economics.
This travelling scholarship supports graduates who have demonstrated aptitude and achievement in economics and who are undertaking study in an overseas university for a postgraduate degree or diploma in economics or in a field with a major component of economics.

What are the benefits?
At least $5,000, paid in two instalments:
- The first instalment of the scholarship will be paid upon acceptance of the award and confirmation of enrolment at an overseas university or research institution.
- The second instalment will be paid upon confirmation of continued full-time enrolment at an overseas university or research institution.
The recipient must provide an impact statement after completion of their educational travel.
