The Maureen Brunt Scholarship
Maureen Brunt was only the third woman to hold a Professorial Chair in Australia and the first to do so in the field of economics. She received an honorary doctorate from the university and was made an Officer of the Order of Australia (AO) for “Services to the Trade Practices Tribunal and to education”.
This travelling scholarship supports graduates who have demonstrated aptitude and achievement in economics and who are undertaking study in an overseas university for a postgraduate degree or diploma in economics or in a field with a major component of economics.

What are the benefits?
$5,000 paid in two instalments:
- The first instalment of the scholarship will be paid upon acceptance of the award and confirmation of enrolment at an overseas university or research institution.
- The second instalment will be paid upon confirmation of continued full-time enrolment at an overseas university or research institution.
The recipient must provide an impact statement after completion of their educational travel.
