MBS Deputy Dean Awards

The MBS Deputy Dean Awards was established by the Faculty of Business and Economics for Academic Excellence and Community Leadership. It aims to recognise high achieving graduate students at the Melbourne Business School who demonstrate outstanding leadership skills and strong community engagement, both within and outside the University. Applications open in both Semester 1 and Semester 2 per year. There are up to three MBS Deputy Dean Awards available per semester, each valued at approximately $5,000!

  • Eligibility & selection criteria

    Eligibility

    To be eligible for this scholarship, you need to:

    • be enrolled in one of the following Masters program at the Melbourne Business School:
      • Master of Management suite of programs
      • Master of International Business
      • Master of Finance
      • Master of Economics
      • Master of Actuarial Science
      • Master of Applied Econometrics
    • have a minimum WAM of 75% in your MBS program
    • be currently studying in your penultimate semester (the one before last) of your course at the time of the application and intending to complete your course in Semester 1, 2020.

    Current scholarship holders are eligible to apply.

    Selection criteria

    MBS Deputy Dean Awards are awarded on the recommendation of the Selection Panel comprising: MBS Deputy Dean, one FBE senior academic, Manager of Student Employability and Enrichment, and supported by FBE Scholarships Manager.

  • Application process

    Submit an online application including:

    • A cover letter outlining your outstanding leadership skills and strong community engagement, both within and outside the university (maximum 2 pages)
    • A current resume
    • Your Academic Record (available from the Student Portal)
    • Submit a written proposal of an idea on what you could do to benefit the broader community, outside of the university
  • When will I know the outcome?

    Successful and unsuccessful applicants will be notified via email.
