The MDHS Indigenous Mobility and Engagement Grant is awarded to indigenous students to support travel for the purpose of a placement, elective, community engagement and outreach activity or conference.

This grant provides a one-off payment of up to $2000 for domestic travel, or up to $5000 for international travel.

Eligibility and selection criteria
Eligibility
To be considered for this grant, you must:
- Be an Aboriginal and/or Torres Strait Islander person by descent, identify as an Aboriginal and/or Torres Strait Islander person, and be accepted as such by the community in which they live or have lived
- Be enrolled in an undergraduate or graduate degree by coursework in the Faculty of Medicine, Dentistry and Health Sciences.
Selection criteria
The grant is offered to the student(s) ranked highest by the selection panel based on their application and academic results for their enrolled degree.
In the interest of equitable distribution of scholarships, other scholarships or prizes received from the University by students are considered.
Conditions
This grant cannot be deferred. In addition, students must:
- Affirm and maintain their eligibility for support for Aboriginal and/or Torres Strait Islander people. See: Confirming your eligibility
- Undertake the travel for which the funds were awarded
- Agree to provide a report of their travel experience, including photos, to faculty.
