Summary

A Student Giving Fund was started in 2012 during the 150th anniversary celebrations of the Melbourne Medical School and forms part of THE MEDICINE, DENTISTRY AND HEALTH SCIENCES SCHOLARSHIPS FUND. In 2015 the Philanthropy Group of the Melbourne Medical School Student Ambassadors announced a new scholarship from these funds. Each year, the fund is replenished by further student donations to the Medical Student Relief Bursary.

The Medical Student Relief Bursary is a scholarship for medical students by medical students. Its purpose is to provide support to our peers during times of unexpected financial distress. Small bursaries will be granted to students that are experiencing sudden, unforeseen circumstances, which impact on their overall well-being and increase their financial need.
