The Melbourne Access Bachelor of Arts Scholarship is for enrolling undergraduate domestic students who intend to undertake the Bachelor of Arts and are experiencing disadvantaged circumstances.

Eligibility & selection criteria
Eligibility
To be eligible for this scholarship, you must:
- have completed Year 12 or International Baccalaureate in Australia;
- not have completed any subjects undertaken as part of a tertiary course;
- have applied for the University of Melbourne Bachelor of Arts via VTAC Special Entry Access Scheme (SEAS) for commencement in the year following completion of Year 12 or International Baccalaureate; and,
- meet the Access Melbourne entry requirements for the University of Melbourne course nominated in their VTAC application.
Students who have applied for admission to the University via VTAC SEAS will be automatically considered for this scholarship.
Selection criteria
Eligible Access Melbourne applicants for the University of Melbourne Bachelor of Arts under the VTAC Special Entry Access Scheme (SEAS) criteria of disadvantaged financial background and/or resident of a rural or isolated area will be considered.
Conditions
This scholarship is subject to the Coursework Scholarships Terms & Conditions and can be deferred to the following academic year. In addition, recipients must enrol in a Bachelor of Arts degree. Recipients must agree to give permission for the University to provide their name and course details to the donor of the scholarship and to provide a brief report on the benefits of the scholarship when requested.

Application process
Students who have applied for Access Melbourne using the VTAC Special Entry Access Scheme (SEAS) will be automatically considered for this scholarship.

When will I know the outcome?
Scholarship offers are made a few days after the Victorian Year 12 ATAR are released in December. Further offers are made in January and February to students who have completed IB or Year Twelve at a school outside Victoria.

About the donor
Melbourne Humanities Foundation Board
The Faculty of Arts garnered support from the Melbourne Humanities Foundation Board, with a founding donation from the Chancellor and other Board members, to jointly offer scholarships to undergraduate students to ensure that an Arts degree can be accessible to all students, no matter their background.
The Melbourne Humanities Foundation was established in 2012 by the Faculty of Arts in partnership with the Melbourne Humanities Foundation Board. The Melbourne Humanities Foundation supports those fields of teaching and research that sit at the heart of a university - the humanities disciplines. The role of the Foundation is to assist the Faculty of Arts to develop support for humanities programs, which have experienced decreases in government funding. In particular, the Foundation seeks benefaction in key areas such as classics, history, literature, languages, art history and philosophy.
