Summary

The Melbourne Indigenous Merit Scholarship is awarded to talented Indigenous students who are enrolling in a graduate degree by coursework.

Benefits

The scholarship provides the following benefits:

  • A living allowance of $6,000 per year for the full-time duration of your course, paid in two instalments in April and September.
  • A full fee sponsorship for an Australian Fee Place or HECS Student Contribution for the duration of the course.

Eligibility and selection criteria

Eligibility

To be considered for this scholarship, you must:

  • Be an Aboriginal and/or Torres Strait Islander person by descent, identify as an Aboriginal and/or Torres Strait Islander person, and be accepted as such by the community in which you live or have lived
  • Have received an offer for graduate degree by coursework.

Selection criteria

The scholarship is offered to eligible candidates(s) who rank highest based on the course entry score.

Conditions

This scholarship is subject to the Coursework Terms & Conditions and can be deferred to the following year. In addition, you must affirm and maintain their eligibility for support for Aboriginal and/or Torres Strait Islander people. See: Establishing your eligibility
