The Melbourne National Merit Scholarship was offered to talented students from states and territories of Australia other than Victoria to assist with the cost of moving to Melbourne.
This scholarship is no longer offered.

This scholarship provides a one-off allowance of $8000 paid in the first semester of enrolment.

Eligibility and selection criteria
Eligibility
To be considered for this scholarship, you must:
- Be an Australian citizen or permanent resident or a New Zealand citizen
- Have completed Australian Year 12 or International Baccalaureate in a state or territory of Australia other than Victoria
- Have applied for a University of Melbourne undergraduate course via VTAC for commencement in the year following completion of Australian Year 12 or International Baccalaureate
- Satisfy the prerequisites for a University of Melbourne undergraduate course and have achieved an ATAR of 99.00 – 99.85
- Not have previously undertaken any tertiary studies (excluding Extension Program subjects completed as part of Year 12 studies)
Selection criteria
This scholarship was guaranteed to all eligible students.
Conditions
This scholarship is subject to the Coursework Scholarships Terms & Conditions and can be deferred to the following academic year. Also you cannot hold both a Melbourne National Merit Scholarship and a Melbourne Chancellor’s Scholarship.

How to apply
If you have applied for admission to the University via VTAC, you will automatically be considered for the Melbourne National Merit Scholarship.
When will I know the outcome?
