Open to students of Indigenous Australian background about to commence the Melbourne JD and are experiencing disadvantaged circumstances. This scholarship is awarded on the basis of both academic merit and financial need.

  • Eligibility & selection criteria

    Eligibility

    To be eligible for this scholarship, you must:

    * Be accepted to commence study in the Melbourne JD; and

    * Have applied through Graduate Access Melbourne (GAM) under the (1) ‘Recognition as an Indigenous Australian’ and (2) ‘Disadvantaged socio-economic circumstances’ categories; satisfy the GAM eligibility criteria for those categories; and supply the required documentation for those categories, including:

    • A Certificate of Aboriginality or a Statutory Declaration.
    • A 500-word statement outlining the student’s socio-economic circumstances.
    • The ‘Disadvantaged socioeconomic circumstances – Supplementary form’, which includes an additional 750-word statement, and income and expenses summaries; and
    • substantiation of claims with relevant, third-party verified, documentation such as pay slips, Centrelink statements etc.

    Selection criteria

    The scholarship is awarded on the basis of demonstrated financial need and academic merit.

  • When will I know the outcome?

    Recipients will receive an outcome with their admission offer.
