The Michael and Rose Del Monaco Award was established with a gift from Nicola Del Monaco in honour of his parents Michael and Rose Del Monaco and is offered to students who are undertaking international or domestic travel to engage with creative pursuit related to their studies at the Faculty of Fine Arts and Music.

Eligibility and selection criteria

Eligibility

To be considered for this award, you must be enrolled in a degree program in the Faculty of Fine Arts and Music in the field of Music Theatre, String Performance, Writing/Performance or Indigenous Arts and Cultural Development. Travel may be international or domestic and must engage with creative pursuit related to the applicant’s studies at the Faculty of Fine Arts and Music.

Selection criteria

The award is offered to the student(s) ranked highest by the selection panel based on their application and travel proposal.

Conditions

Students must:

  • Undertake the travel for which the funding has been awarded
  • Agree to the University sharing their name and course details with the donor of their scholarship and provide a note of appreciation or a brief report on the benefits of the scholarship if requested.

How to apply

You must submit an application and include a personal statement addressing the benefit of the proposed travel to your studies and details of the travel including itinerary and budget.  Travel may be international or domestic and must engage with creative pursuit related to the applicant’s studies at the Faculty of Fine Arts and Music.

Applicants can expect an outcome approximately six weeks after the closing date.
