This grant is offered to Melbourne Law School Indigenous students who are in the final year of JD and are enrolled in Practical Legal Training (PLT)

Eligibility and selection criteria

Eligibility

To be considered for this grant, you must:

  • Be an Aboriginal and/or Torres Strait Islander person by descent, identify as an Aboriginal and/or Torres Strait Islander person, and be accepted as such by the community in which you live or have lived
  • Be accepted for enrolment in the Practical Legal Training (PLT)Program.

Selection criteria

As per Practical Legal Training (PLT) enrolment requirement students must have completed all Priestley 11 core subjects of the law degree- with no more than two electives remaining and have not received any other financial support in relation to the Practical Legal Training (PLT) from other institutions or their place of work.

Applicants must produce evidence of enrolment into the Practical Legal Training (PLT) Program.

Conditions

Students must affirm and maintain their eligibility for support for Aboriginal and/or Torres Strait Islander people. See: Establishing your eligibility
