Summary

Nicole King specialised in cancer nursing early in her career, going on to work as a Clinical Nurse Educator at The Royal Melbourne Hospital and then at Peter MacCallum Cancer Centre. Nicole held an honorary joint appointment with The University of Melbourne as Course Co-ordinator: Post Graduate Diploma in Nursing Practice (Cancer and Palliative Care Stream). Nicole died of a rare cancer in 2011. The Nicole King prize reflects her commitment to academic excellence in cancer nursing.

Eligibility and selection criteria

Eligibility

Students graduating from a Fourth Year course specialising in Cancer and Palliative Nursing offered by the School of Health Sciences, The University of Melbourne.

Selection criteria

The prize is to be awarded annually to one graduating diplomate who has achieved the highest average academic marks for the Postgraduate Diploma in Nursing Practice Cancer and Palliative Care.
