  • Eligibility & selection criteria

    Eligibility

    To be eligible for this scholarship, you must:

    • Be enrolled in a PhD/MPhil in the Faculty of Science or the Master of Industrial Research (Chemistry) and:
      • Be confirmed,
      • Be undertaking research that is significantly aligned to the discipline of Biochemistry,
      • Have no more than 3 years candidature as of the closing date for submissions,
      • Provide evidence of supervisor endorsement,
      • Provide a copy of your Curriculum Vitae.
    • OR  be enrolled in the Master of Science or Bachelor of Science (Honours)  and:

      • Be undertaking substantial research that is significantly aligned to the discipline of Biochemistry,
      • Provide evidence of supervisor endorsement,
      • Provide a copy of your Curriculum Vitae.

    Selection criteria

    Eligible candidates will be ranked based on:

    • The strength of the research and its alignment to the discipline of biochemistry.

    Biochemistry has been defined as:

    'Biochemistry is the study of the structure and function of components of living cells, focusing on understanding at the molecular level the biological processes that enable all living things to survive and thrive. Biochemistry focuses on the relationship of molecular structure and function, the flow of chemical energy in metabolism and the molecular processes that regulate cell and tissue behavior.'
