The Old Agriculture Fellows Travel Award was established with a gift from the Society of Old Agriculture Fellows and is offered to students who are enrolled in a Doctor of Philosophy in Agriculture and undertake travel for a significant conference in, or outside of, Australia.

Eligibility and selection criteria

Eligibility

To be considered for this award, you must:

  • Be enrolled in a Doctor of Philosophy – Science in the field of Agricultural Science
  • Have met the requirements for confirmation of your candidature
  • Be enrolled at the time of the proposed travel and not have submitted your thesis or be on a leave of absence.

Note: Graduate Researchers need to apply for Study Away if travelling for research-related activities away from the University.

Selection criteria

The award is offered to the student(s) ranked highest by the selection panel based on the quality of their application.

Conditions

Students must undertake the proposed travel. In addition, students must agree to the University sharing their name and course details with the donor of their scholarship and provide a note of appreciation and a brief report on the benefits of the scholarship if requested.

How to apply

You must submit an application and include:

  • Personal statement addressing the purpose of, and commitment to, your research
  • Statement of support from supervisor
  • Evidence of accepted conference presentation
  • Travel plan and budget.
