Established by Melbourne Law School alumnus, Philip Solomon KC (B.Com, LL.B (Hons) (Melb), LLM (Cantab)). Philip Solomon KC has a significant practice, regularly appearing in both appeals and trials; in the High Court of Australia, the Federal Court of Australia and the Supreme Court of Victoria.

Eligibility and selection criteria
Eligibility
To be considered for this bursary, you must:
- be a domestic or international student
- be admitted to the Melbourne JD and have completed between 87.5pts and 112.5pts of study at Melbourne Law School
- have an aspiration to become a Victorian barrister, as demonstrated by a commitment to Mooting at Melbourne Law School.
Selection criteria
The scholarship is awarded on the basis of both academic merit and demonstrated financial need.
Note: Students who wish to be eligible for scholarships that consider financial need must submit the University of Melbourne’s Financial Assessment Form prior to submitting their application for Melbourne Law School scholarships.
