INTENDED OUTCOMES
The Philip Hunter Fellowship is unique in that it allows for genuine cross-disciplinary work to be seeded and flourish at a high level of intellectual, cultural and artistic endeavour. It is intended that the work created out of the Fellowship will have a public impact.
It is a condition of the Fellowship that the following outcomes are presented:
Research:At the completion of the 12-month Fellowship, the research outcomes will be presented to faculty, staff, students and/or alumni at the VCA, Faculty of Fine Arts and Music at the University of Melbourne. This could be delivered in the context of a seminar, workshop, lecture, artist talk or similar and will be arranged in consultation with VCA staff and faculty.
Creative Work:The final Creative Work produced during, or resulting from the Fellowship and informed by the research component thereof, must be presented in a public forum external to the VCA within 36 months of the Fellowship being awarded. Suggested outcomes may include, but are not limited to, pieces of artwork, design, dance, film, theatre, music or landscape architecture.
These conditions are applied as part of a strong belief in the social and cultural impact that research-informed creative practice can have in contemporary society, particularly in relation to the environment. Further, the outcomes of the Philip Hunter Fellowship will contribute to debate and engagement for students and staff at the University of Melbourne, allowing for examination of the ideas produced during the Fellowship through any aforementioned public exhibition, performance, forum and or publication.
