The Primary English Teachers Association of Australia (PETAA) Award for Excellence is awarded to students who are graduating from a Master of Teaching in Early Childhood and/or Primary Education in recognition of their excellence in English education.

Benefits

This ​award​ provides a twelve-month digital PETAA Professional membership and a certificate. One award each will be offered for the Master of Teaching (Primary) and Master of Teaching (Early Childhood and Primary Education). ​

Eligibility and selection criteria

Eligibility

To be considered for this ​award​, you must have completed the Master of Teaching (Primary) or Master of Teaching (Early Childhood and Primary) in the year for which the award is awarded.

Selection criteria

The ​award​ is offered to the student(s) ranked highest ​based on​ their mark for the subject Literacy Assessment and Learning (or its successor) if completing the Master of Teaching (Primary), or the subject Language and Literacy: Years 3 to 6 (ECP) (or its successor) if completing the Master of Teaching (Early Childhood and Primary).

In the event of a tie, the award will be offered to the candidate with the highest mark in the final literacy assignment for the subject.
