The Professor Kernot Research Scholarship in Earth Sciences was established with gifts from William Charles Kernot, Roderick Esdaile and Susan Angela Esdaile and is offered to students who achieved the highest weighted average mark for third-year Earth Science subjects in the Bachelor of Science.

Eligibility
To be considered for this prize, you must:
- Have completed the Bachelor of Science at the University of Melbourne with a major in Earth Sciences
- Be enrolled in the Bachelor of Science (Degree with honours) in Earth Science or the Master of Science (Earth Sciences)
Selection criteria
The scholarship is offered to the student(s) ranked highest based on their weighted average mark for third-year Earth Science subjects in the Bachelor of Science. In the event of a tie, the prize will be split equally.
