Eligibility and selection criteria
Eligibility
To be considered for this prize, you must:
- Have completed the research training program in the Master of Science (Mathematics and Statistics) at the University of Melbourne
- Have completed the Research Project Component of the masters degree on a subject in Pure or Applied Mathematics
A period less than 7 years must not have passed from matriculation. Students who have already received the prize will not be considered.
Selection criteria
The prize will be offered to the student who is ranked highest by the selection panel based on the marks for the research component and on the statement from the thesis examiners commenting on the qualities of the research component, such as mastery of the subject, contribution to the field of Mathematics or Statistics, and quality of the presentation of their research.
