Summary

The Randal and Louisa Alcock Scholarship was established with a bequest from Randal James Alcock. The scholarship is awarded to students undertaking a graduate research degree and who intend to undertake research into the causes, prevention and cure of human disease in the Faculty of Medicine, Dentistry and Health Sciences.

Benefits

An annual top-up scholarship, paid fortnightly, the value and duration of which is dependent on the income of the gift.

Eligibility and selection criteria

Eligibility

To be considered for this scholarship, you must:

  • be an outstanding graduate research applicant, or be currently enrolled as a graduate researcher, in the Faculty of Medicine, Dentistry and Health Sciences
  • satisfy the Faculty's entry requirements for PhD

Selection criteria

The selection committee will assess applicants for the scholarship based on academic merit, faculty scholarship score, demonstrated skill in the relevant research area, career aspiration and the terms and conditions of the trust.

Students will be required to provide an application form, academic transcripts, faculty scholarship score, project proposal, CV and referee reports.

How to apply

Commencing students will be automatically considered.

Continuing students must complete an online application for Graduate Research Scholarships.

Recipients of trust-funded scholarships are required to reapply by 31 October each year or their scholarship funding will cease.
