RG and AU Meade Scholarship in Surgery

This scholarship was established with a donation from Frampton Garnsey Meade, in memory of his parents Robert Garnsey Meade and Anna Unee Meade, early pioneers in Victoria. Worth up to $800, this scholarship is awarded to medical graduates undertaking a graduate research degree in Surgery in the Faculty of Medicine, Dentistry and Health Sciences.

  • Eligibility & selection criteria

    Eligibility

    To be eligible for this scholarship, you must:

    • be an outstanding graduate research applicant, or be currently enrolled as a graduate researcher, in the Melbourne Medical School, Faculty of Medicine, Dentistry and Health Sciences
    • be a medical graduate
    • satisfy the Faculty's entry requirements for PhD

    Selection criteria

    Eligible applicants are selected on the basis of academic merit, the faculty scholarship score, demonstrated skill in the relevant research area, career aspiration and the terms and conditions of the trust.

    The selection committee will base its assessment on the application form, academic transcripts, the faculty scholarship score, the student's project proposal, CV and referee reports.

  • Application process

    Commencing students will be automatically considered.

    Continuing students must complete an online application for Graduate Research Scholarships.

    Recipients of trust-funded scholarships are required to reapply by 31 October each year or their scholarship funding will cease.

  • When will I know the outcome?

    Successful candidates will be advised of the outcome of their application according to the Faculty's published timelines.
