This scholarship was established with a donation from Tjahaja James Lee Riady and offered to high-achieving research students who intend to undertake fieldwork in Asia.

  • Eligibility & selection criteria

    Eligibility

    To be eligible for this scholarship, you need to:

    • be enrolled in a graduate research degree at the University of Melbourne
    • intend to undertake fieldwork in Asia as part your graduate research degree

    Selection criteria

    Eligible candidates are selected on the basis of academic merit.

    Conditions

    • This scholarship can be held concurrently with another scholarship to undertake study related travel or fieldwork.
    • You must undertake the proposed fieldwork in Asia. If the fieldwork is cancelled you must notify Stop 1 and may be required to return any payments made.
    • You must provide a brief report on the benefits of the scholarship (on request) and give permission for the University to provide the report, your name and course details to the donor.
    • You must acknowledge the support of the scholarship in any published or produced material which relate to the field work for which the scholarship was awarded.
