The Richard Brak Memorial Prize is awarded to students who achieve outstanding results in the research project component of the Master of Science (Mathematics and Statistics). Preference will be given to students who undertake research related to the field of combinatorics and statistical mechanics.

Eligibility and selection criteria

Eligibility

To be considered for this prize, you must:

  • Be enrolled in the Master of Science (Mathematics and Statistics) (or its successor)
  • Have completed the research project component of the degree.

Selection criteria

The prize is offered to the student(s) ranked highest by the selection panel based on their weighted average mark for research project component subjects and thesis examiners statement. Preference will be given to research projects in the field of combinatorics and statistical mechanics if ranked 20th or higher.

Conditions

Students must agree to the University sharing their name and course details with the donor of their scholarship and provide a note of appreciation or a brief report on the benefits of the scholarship if requested.
