Summary
The RJ Fletcher Research Scholarship was established with a gift from Richard Jaques Fletcher and is awarded to domestic graduate researchers who are undertaking research in the fields of cancer or anaesthetics, including the use of anaesthetics for the prevention and relief of suffering.
Benefits
This scholarship provides a fortnightly stipend with a rate of approximately $5,000 per year (full-time student rate) for one year.

Eligibility and selection criteria
Eligibility
To be considered for this scholarship, you must:
- Be an Australian or New Zealand cizen or Australian permanent resident
- Have received an offer for, or be currently enrolled in, a graduate research degree in the Faculty of Medicine, Dentistry and Health Sciences and be undertaking research in the fields of cancer or anaesthetics, including the use of anaesthetics for the prevention and relief of suffering in the year for which the scholarship is awarded.
Selection criteria
The scholarship is offered to the eligible candidate(s) ranked highest based on their faculty scholarship score.
In the event of a tie, the scholarship will be split equally.
Conditions
This scholarship is subject to the MDHS Graduate Research Trust Scholarships Terms and Conditions and cannot be deferred to the following academic year. In addition, recipients must agree to the University sharing their name and course details with the donor of their scholarship and provide a note of appreciation or a brief report on the benefits of the scholarship if requested.
