Summary
The Samuel and June Hordern Rural and Regional Bursary honours Samuel and June Hordern, prominent Australian pastoralists. The bursary is offered to Australian students from rural or regional areas who are enrolled in the Bachelor of Commerce and are experiencing disadvantaged circumstances.

Eligibility and selection criteria
Eligibility
To be considered for this bursary, you must:
- Be an Australian citizen or Australian permanent resident
- Be in your 1st or 2nd year of the BCom and be completing 200 points or less of the degree by the end of semester 2 2025
- Have an Academic Status of Good Standing
- Be living or have lived in a regional or remote area of Australia (based on the Australian Standard Geographic Classification)
Selection criteria
The bursary is offered to the students ranked highest by the selection panel based on their financial assessment score and personal statement.
Conditions
This bursary cannot be deferred. In addition, students must:
- Be enrolled in a full time study load and maintain an academic status of Good Standing
- Agree to the University sharing their name and course details with the donor of their scholarship and provide a note of appreciation or a brief report on the benefits of the scholarship if requested.

- A personal statement (1 page approx) that describes the impact of your current circumstances on your studies and how a bursary may benefit you and support your completion of the Bachelor of Commerce.
