The Sophie Ducker Postgraduate Scholarship was established with a gift from friends and associates of Dr Sophie Charlotte Ducker and is offered to students who are enrolling or are enrolled in the Doctor of Philosophy in the field of Botany and undertaking research in Australian flora.

Eligibility and selection criteria

Eligibility

To be considered for this scholarship, students must:

  • Be enrolled in the Doctor of Philosophy in the discipline of Botany within the School of BioSciences
  • Undertaking research in the field of Australian flora
  • Not have received the Sophie Ducker Postgraduate Scholarship for a second year.

Selection criteria

The scholarship is offered to the student(s) ranked highest by the selection panel based on their personal statement.

Conditions

Students must agree to the University sharing their name and course details with the donor of their scholarship and provide a note of appreciation or a brief report on the benefits of the scholarship if requested.

You must submit an application and include:

  • Details of your research project
  • A personal statement addressing your reasons for applying for the scholarship and how the funding will benefit your research.
