Summary
The Stuart Black Drawing Fellowship supports artistic fellows who have a high level of teaching and drawing skills, enabling them to conduct drawing classes to all students of Visual Art, Faculty of Fine Arts and Music.
Benefits
This Fellowship provides a four-week residency and a one-off payment of between $15,000 and $20,000.
The award payment is intended to contribute towards costs associated with the residency, including return economy travel, visa costs, insurance, local transport, meals and living expenses.
Accommodation is provided at the Norma Redpath Studio for the Fellow and their partner/spouse, dependent children or a support person during the residency, subject to agreement and the accommodation capacity of the Norma Redpath Studio. Where required, Fellows may allocate up to AUD $3,500 of the Fellowship payment towards additional costs associated with dependent children or a support person.

Eligibility
* In 2027, the Fellowship will support two international Fellows of any country, subject to Australian visa requirements.
* Applicants should be renowned artists whose practices demonstrate an engagement with Drawing and who have a high level of teaching capacity.
*Applicants must not currently hold an active appointment or engagement with the University of Melbourne as an employee, honorary appointee or contractor.
Selection criteria
The Fellowship selection panel will include senior academics from the School of Art at the Faculty of Fine Arts and Music. The Dean of the Faculty of Fine Arts and Music will provide final approval of the recipient.
