The Student Travel Grant is available to international students commencing a coursework, Study Abroad, or graduate research degree who are affected by increased travel costs to Australia due to recent global events.

Eligibility and selection criteria
Eligibility
To be considered for this grant, you must:
- Have arrived in Australia to commence a coursework degree, Study Abroad program, or graduate research degree^ between 1 June 2026 and 31 August 2026
- Be enrolled in an Overseas Fee place
- Have purchased flights to Australia on or after 1 March 2026 and before 31 August 2026
- Not be in receipt of a scholarship that covers the cost of travel to Australia
- Not have undertaken study in Australia between 1 January 2026 and 31 May 2026
^ Excludes Exchange programs and Study Abroad/Exchange Research programs

How to apply
You must submit a Student Travel Grant application and include evidence that your flights to Australia were purchased on or after 1 March 2026 and before 31 August 2026 (e.g. receipt or e-tickets showing date of purchase or date of issue).
Before you apply for this grant you must have already arrived in Australia and enrolled in your course subjects for semester 2 2026.

You will receive an outcome within one or two weeks.
