Summary

The Study in China Scholarship is supported by the National Foundation for Australia-China Relations (NFACR) and is awarded to Australian students to support a semester of study at a partner university as part of the Master of Contemporary Chinese Studies.

Eligibility and selection criteria

Eligibility

To be considered for this scholarship, you must:

  • Be an Australian citizen
  • Be enrolled in the Master of Contemporary Chinese Studies and have completed at least 50 points of study
  • Intend to undertake one semester of approved overseas study as part of the Master of Contemporary Chinese Studies in the year for which the scholarship is awarded.

Selection criteria

The scholarship is offered to the eligible candidate(s) ranked highest by the selection panel based on their application, course entry score or WAM and performance at interview.

Conditions

This scholarship cannot be deferred to the following academic year. In addition, recipients must:

  • Undertake the travel for which the scholarship is awarded, or be required to return the funds
  • Provide a brief report on the benefits of the scholarship and give permission for the University to share their name, the name of their course and the report with the donor.

How to apply

You must submit an application and include a personal statement addressing your interest in contemporary China, and the impact the scholarship will have on enabling you to achieve your educational and professional goals.

Shortlisted applicants will be required to attend an interview.
