The Fay Thomas Scholarship

This scholarship will provide support for a student who is currently enrolled in the Master of Instructional Leadership at the Melbourne Graduate School of Education and is an experienced member of staff from a remote, rural or regional Victorian State School (Primary or Secondary) to undertake study or research in the fields of school leadership and management. The scholarship is worth approximately $6,000.

  • Eligibility & selection criteria


    To be eligible for this scholarship, you need to:

    • be a student of the Master of Instructional Leadership
    • have a minimum of 5 years school leadership experience
    • be working at a remote, rural or regional Victorian government school

    Preference will be given to students entering their second year of the Master of Instructional Leadership.

    Selection criteria

    • eligible applicants will be assessed on the merit of their application and previous academic results, including results for the first year of the Master of Instructional Leadership (if applicable)
  • Application process
    • completion of application via the online application form.  The application form will be available when the scholarship opens on 1 January, 2021
    • applications are ranked by the selection committee which consists of three University academics
  • When will I know the outcome?

    Applicants will be notified of the outcome by May 2021 at the latest.
