The Fay Thomas Scholarship

Eligibility

To be eligible for this scholarship, you must:

• be a student of the Master of Instructional Leadership or Master of Education (Leadership and Management)
• have a minimum of 5 years experience at a senior level within a school*
• be working at a Victorian government school

Preference will be given to students entering their second year of the course.

*This does not require a specific job title.  Applicants must show that they have at least 5 years’ experience in leadership roles within their schools.

Selection criteria

Eligible applicants will be assessed on the merit of their application and previous academic results, including results for the first year of the Master of Instructional Leadership or Master of Education (Leadership and Management), if applicable.

• completion of application via the online application form.  The application form will be available when the scholarship opens on 1 January.
• applications are ranked by the selection committee which consists of three University academics

As part of your application you will need to:

• detail your past teaching experience
• provide details of your leadership responsibilities within schools to date (including job titles and dates)
• explain your motivation for taking the Master of Instructional Leadership or Master of Education (Leadership and Management) and what you hope/plan to do with the knowledge you gain your study
• provide a letter of support confirming your school employment and leadership involvement.  The letter should be on letterhead and signed by your referee.

Applicants will be notified of the outcome by May at the latest.
