The Tom Zucker Scholarship was established in the 1990s through a generous gift of the Zucker family and the partners of Holding Redlich. Tom Zucker was a partner with Holding Redlich, specialising in employment and labour law, at the time of his death in 1990. The purpose of the scholarship is to advance the cause of the labour movement in Australia.

To be considered for this scholarship, you must:

Selection criteria

Selection for this scholarship is based on both academic merit and demonstrated financial need, with preference given to applicants who are employed by, or who are officials of, an Australian trade union or peak union organisation.

Note: Students must submit the University of Melbourne’s Financial Assessment Form prior to submitting their application for Melbourne Law School scholarships.

How to apply

Applicants must submit both the Student Financial Assessment Form and an application with Melbourne Law School during the application period.

Apply with MLS

Applications submitted to Melbourne Law School without an accompanying Student Financial Assessment Form submission will not be considered.

When will I know the outcome?

Recipients will receive their outcome approximately one month after applications close.
