Provided by the Westpac Scholars Trust, the Future Leaders Scholarship supports exceptional individuals to undertake graduate study or research in the areas of sustainable futures, an inclusive country, Australia in Asia or a thriving tech sector. The University of Melbourne is one of the partner universities that delivers the Westpac Future Leaders Scholarship.

    To be eligible for this scholarship, you must:

    Eligible candidates will be selected based on demonstrated academic excellence, a desire and potential to lead and a bold vision to contribute to the growth and prosperity of Australia.

  • Application process
    1. Apply for admission to a graduate coursework or research degree at the University of Melbourne.
    2. Apply for the Westpac Future Leaders scholarship on the Westpac Scholars website.
  • When will I know the outcome?

    Applicants will be notified of the outcome in January.

What are the benefits?

The Westpac Future Leaders Scholarship provides the following benefits:

  • Up to $120,000 over 2-3 years to cover the cost of study (e.g. course fees, living allowance, travel and conference attendance)
  • Enrolment in a nine-month bespoke Leadership Development Program
  • Opportunity to add a global context to your education, with a tailored international experience of up to six months
  • Lifelong membership in the Westpac 100 Scholars Network
