Summary

The William J. Tuckfield Prize was established by the Commonwealth Dental Supply Co. Pty. Ltd., to mark the contributions made to science of dental prosthesis by Dr William John Tuckfield DSc (Nwstn) (1925), DDSc (1944), LLD (1963), FACD who was a member of the Faculty of Medicine, Dentistry and Health Sciences at the University from 1908. Later, he was appointed as Dean of the Faculty in 1922 until 1923, and Acting Professor of dental prosthetics in 1949 until his retirement in 1959.

Eligibility and selection criteria

Eligibility

To be eligible for this prize, you must

  • Be enrolled in the Doctor of Dental Surgery
  • Have completed Dental Practice 2 and Principles of Dental Practice 2

Selection criteria

This prize is awarded to the student with the highest aggregate mark in the Prosthodontics component of subjects Dental Practice 2 and Principles of Dental Practice 2, as determined at the end of year Board of Examiners meeting.
