Coursework access scholarships

Eligibility

To be eligible for this scholarship, you must:

• be an Australian citizen or permanent resident
• have applied for or be enrolled in an undergraduate or graduate degree by coursework at the University of Melbourne
• have at least twelve months of full-time equivalent study remaining to complete your course
• be experiencing compassionate or compelling circumstances (e.g. having primary care responsibilities for a dependent, medical condition, disability, or personal or financial difficulties)
• meet the requirements for one of the following scholarships:
  • Hugh Kingsley Family Scholarship
  • Irene and Arthur Kinsman Award for Postgraduate Studies
  • Eleanor and Joseph Wertheim Scholarship

Selection criteria

Eligible candidates are selected on the basis on their overall level of disadvantage, academic merit and the specific purpose of each scholarship.

Conditions

• These scholarships are subject to the Coursework Scholarship Conditions.
• You agree to give permission for the University to provide your name and course details to the donor of your scholarship and to provide a brief report on the benefits of the scholarship if requested.

Applications for the coursework access scholarships usually open in November. You will need to submit one application to be considered for the following scholarships:

• Hugh Kingsley Family Scholarship
• Irene and Arthur Kinsman Award for Postgraduate Studies
• Eleanor and Joseph Wertheim Scholarship

Students will be notified of the outcome of their application by 26 February. Reasons for non-selection and feedback on individual applications will not be provided.
