Summary
The Gerda Nicolson Award is offered to talented Indigenous students who are enrolled in a bachelor degree in Theatre or Music and identify as a woman. Preference is given to students enrolled in their second year of study.

Eligibility and selection criteria
Eligibility
To be considered for this award, you must:
- Be an Aboriginal and/or Torres Strait Islander person, identify as Aboriginal and/or Torres Strait Islander person, and be accepted as such by the community in which you live or have lived
- Identify as a woman (cis-gender and transwomen)
- Be enrolled in a Bachelor of Fine Arts (Theatre), Bachelor of Fine Arts (Music Theatre) or Bachelor of Music (or their successors)
Selection criteria
The award is offered to the student(s) ranked highest by the selection panel based on their course weighted average mark, artistic performance and personal statement. Preference will be given to students in their second year of study if ranked fifth or higher.
Conditions
Students must:
- Agree to give permission for the University to provide their name and course details to the donor of their scholarship and to provide a brief report on the benefits of the scholarship if requested.
- Affirm and maintain their eligibility for support for Aboriginal and/or Torres Strait Islander people. See: Establishing your eligibility

Only ONE APPLICATION is required to be considered for the Wilin Scholarship, the VCA Scholarship Endowment Fund- Wilin Access and Gerda Nicholson.
You must submit an application and include a personal statement addressing how your identity as an Aboriginal and/or Torres Strait Islander person informs your practice, and your academic ambitions.
When will I know the outcome?
Applicants can expect an outcome four weeks after the scholarships closing date.
