The Housing Bursary is offered to students who are relocating to attend the University and are in financial need.

Benefits

This bursary provides a living allowance of up to $4000 for one year, paid in two instalments, on the half yearly allowance pay days in April and September.

Eligibility and selection criteria

Eligibility

To be considered for this bursary, you must:

  • Be enrolled in a course at the University of Melbourne. Students undertaking a single subject or a non-award course (e.g. study abroad or exchange) are not eligible.
  • Be paying rent or board. Students paying mortgages are not eligible.

Selection criteria

Eligible applicants are selected on the basis of financial need.

Conditions

This bursary cannot be deferred to the following year. In addition, students must:

  • Be enrolled in a course at the University of Melbourne. Payments will cease if you complete, discontinue or take leave from your course, or if your enrolment is suspended or withdrawn by the University.
  • Agree to the University sharing their name and course details with the donor of their scholarship and provide a note of appreciation or a brief report on the benefits of the scholarship if requested.
