  • Eligibility & selection criteria

    Eligibility

    To be eligible for this scholarship, you need to:

    • be enrolled in a course at the University of Melbourne. Students undertaking a single subject or a non-award course (e.g. study abroad or exchange) are not eligible.
    • be paying rent or board. Students paying mortgages are not eligible.
    • complete a means test. Students with a married or de facto partner must also include their partner's income. Students under the age of 21 must include the income of their parents, unless there is a serious breakdown in the relationship between the student and their parents.

    Selection criteria

    Eligible applicants are selected on the basis of financial need.

    Conditions

    • You must enrol as a full-time student at the University of Melbourne. You may be eligible to receive this scholarship while enrolled as a part-time student.
    • This bursary cannot be deferred.
    • The Housing Bursary will cease if you complete, discontinue or take leave from your course, or if your enrolment is suspended or withdrawn by the University.
  • Application process

    You must submit an online Student Financial Assessment application by the closing date. If you already have submitted an application in the last six months you do not need to apply again.

  • When will I know the outcome?

    Successful applicants will be notified of the outcome of their applications via email by 15 April (for applications closing in March) or 15 August (for applications closing in July).
