This scholarship is available to students from Australian States and Territories other than Victoria to assist with the cost of accommodation in Melbourne.

  • Eligibility & selection criteria


    To be eligible for this scholarship, you need to:

    • be an Australian citizen or permanent resident, or a New Zealand citizen
    • have completed Year 12 or International Baccalaureatein an Australian State and Territory other than Victoria
    • not have completed subjects undertaken as part of a tertiary course
    • have applied for a University of Melbourne undergraduate degree via VTAC Special Entry Access Scheme (SEAS) for commencement in the year following completion of Year 12 or International Baccalaureate
    • meet the Access Melbourne entry requirements for the University of Melbourne course nominated in your VTAC application

    Selection criteria

    The scholarship is offered to eligible candidates with the highest overall level of disadvantage based on the information provided in their VTAC SEAS application who have not received an offer for a Melbourne Access Scholarship.


    This scholarship is subject to the Coursework Scholarships Terms & Conditions and can be deferred to the following academic year.

  • Application process

    Students who have applied for Access Melbourne using the VTAC Special Entry Access Scheme (SEAS) will be automatically considered for this scholarships.

  • When will I know the outcome?

    Scholarship offers are made in December and January following the release of ATAR results.

What are the benefits?

This scholarship provides an allowance of either:

  • $2500 per year for up to three years
  • $4000 per year for up to three years for students who reside at Little Hall, Lisa Bellear House or UniLodge Lincoln House. See: University Accommodation

The duration will be extended with one year, if you enrol in a Bachelor (Extended) course and/or a concurrent diploma at the same time as their Bachelor degree course at the University of Melbourne.
