  • Eligibility & selection criteria

    Eligibility

    To be eligible for this scholarship, you need to:

    • be an Australian citizen or permanent resident, or a New Zealand citizen
    • have completed Year 12 or International Baccalaureate in Australia
    • not have been awarded results for subjects undertaken as part of a degree course at a tertiary institution in Australia
    • have applied for a University of Melbourne undergraduate degree via VTAC Special Entry Access Scheme (SEAS) for commencement in the year following completion of Year 12 or International Baccalaureate
    • meet the entry requirements for the University of Melbourne course nominated in your VTAC application.
    • be living and have completed Year 12 in an Australian State and Territory other than Victoria

    Selection criteria

    The scholarship is awarded to all eligible candidates who have not been offered a Melbourne Access Scholarship and have the highest overall level of disadvantage based on the information provided in their VTAC SEAS application and their Australian Tertiary Admission Rank (ATAR).

    Conditions

    The Melbourne Access Scholarships are subject to the Coursework Scholarships Terms & Conditions and can be deferred to the following academic year.

  • When will I know the outcome?

    Students who have applied for Access Melbourne using the VTAC Special Entry Access Scheme (SEAS) will be automatically considered for this scholarships. Scholarship offers are made in December and January following the release of ATAR results.

What are the benefits?

This scholarship provides an accommodation allowance of either:

  • $2000 per annum for up to three years
  • $3500 per annum for up to three years for students who reside at accommodation provided under the Melbourne Accommodation Program
