Summary
The Melbourne University Accommodation Scholarship was offered to domestic students who are enrolling in an undergraduate degree, are residing at University Accommodation and are experiencing disadvantaged circumstances.
The Melbourne Access Scholarship is no longer offered. From 2026, commencing students will be considered for the Narrm Scholarship.
Benefits
The Melbourne University Accommodation Scholarship provides an accommodation allowance of $12,500 per year for three years. The allowance is paid directly to the accommodation provider.

Eligibility and selection criteria
Eligibility
To be considered for this scholarship, you must:
- be an Australian citizen or permanent resident, or a New Zealand citizen
- have completed Year 12 or International Baccalaureate in Australia
- not have completed subjects undertaken as part of a tertiary course
- have applied for a place at University Accommodation (Little Hall or Lisa Bellear House)
- have applied for a University of Melbourne undergraduate degree via VTAC Special Entry Access Scheme (SEAS) for commencement in the year following completion of Year 12 or International Baccalaureate
- meet the Access Melbourne entry requirements for the University of Melbourne course nominated in your VTAC application
Selection criteria
This scholarship was offered to eligible candidates who have the highest overall level of disadvantage based on the information provided in their VTAC SEAS application and their Australian Tertiary Admission Rank (ATAR).
Conditions
This scholarship is subject to the Coursework Scholarships Terms & Conditions and can be deferred to the following academic year.
In addition:
- The scholarship will cease if you do not reside at University Accommodation and the accommodation allowance will be applied pro rata if you live at University Accommodation for part of the year.
- You must agree to give permission for the University to provide your name and course details to the donor of your scholarship and to provide a brief report on the benefits of the scholarship if requested.

How to apply
Students who have applied for Access Melbourne using the VTAC Special Entry Access Scheme (SEAS) will be automatically considered for this scholarship.
When will I know the outcome?
Scholarship offers are made a few days after the Victorian Year 12 ATAR are released in December. Further offers are made in January and February to students who have completed IB or Year Twelve at an school outside Victoria.
