Summary

The Stock Family Access Scholarship is awarded to a domestic student from a refugee background who is enrolling in the Bachelor of Science and experiencing disadvantaged circumstances.

Benefits

This scholarship provides a living allowance of $10,000 per year for four years paid in half-yearly instalments of $5000. The living allowance will be extended by one year if you enrol in the Diploma of General Studies, a concurrent diploma or bachelor degree with honours.

Eligibility and selection criteria

Eligibility

To be considered for this scholarship, you must:

  • Be an Australian citizen or hold an Australian permanent humanitarian visa;
  • Have faced difficult circumstances related to being a refugee or asylum seeker; and,
  • Have applied for the Bachelor of Science at the University of Melbourne via VTAC and submitted a VTAC Equity Schemes and scholarships application (formerly SEAS) for commencement in the year following completion of Year 12 or International Baccalaureate in Australia.

Preference will be given to holders of an Australian permanent humanitarian visa.

Selection criteria

Eligible candidates will be ranked based on:

  • Demonstrated level of disadvantage (using the VTAC Access Scholarship selection process),
  • Academic merit, as determined by the highest ATAR.
