Summary
The Eleanor and Joseph Wertheim Scholarship was established with a bequest from Dr Eleanor Sabina Wertheim, and is offered to students who are single and over the age of 25 years, identify as a woman, are enrolling in an undergraduate or graduate degree and are experiencing disadvantaged circumstances.
Benefits
This scholarship provides a living allowance of $5000 per year for the full-time duration of the course, paid in half-yearly instalments of $2500. The duration of the scholarship will be reduced by study undertaken previously and credited towards your course.

Eligibility and selection criteria
Eligibility
To be considered for this scholarship, you must:
- Be an Australian citizen or permanent resident
- Be single, over 25 years of age at the time of application and identify as a woman
- Have received an offer for an undergraduate or graduate degree by coursework commencing in the year for which the scholarship is awarded.
Selection criteria
The scholarship is offered to the student(s) who are ranked highest by the selection panel based on the quality of their application and their level of disadvantage.
Conditions
This scholarships are subject to the Coursework Scholarship Conditions. In addition, you must agree to give permission for the University to provide your name and course details to the donor of your scholarship and to provide a brief report on the benefits of the scholarship if requested.

You must submit a Coursework Access Scholarships application, and include a personal statement and supporting documentation outlining any disadvantaged circumstances that affect your ability to study and explaining how the scholarship will assist you in achieving your personal and academic aspirations.
