  • Eligibility & selection criteria

    Eligibility

    To be eligible for this scholarship, you must:

    • be a current first year student in the Bachelor of Arts; and,
    • demonstrate financial disadvantage.

    Selection criteria

    The scholarship will be offered to a student who demonstrates:

    • a willingness to apply leadership skills and strengths towards activities that benefit others; and,
    • evidence of disadvantaged circumstances.
  • Application process

    Eligible applicants must complete an online application including:

    • a 500-word statement on their willingness to apply leadership skills and strengths towards activities that benefit others and how the scholarship will positively impact their academic work;
    • the University of Melbourne Student Financial Assessment form with attached evidence of submission in your application form;
    • current statement of results; and,
    • any other information to support the application that may assist the committee in making its decision.

  • When will I know the outcome?

    Successful applicants will be notified by email 8 to 10 weeks after the application closing date.

What are the benefits?

A living allowance of $10,000 per year for up to the standard full-time duration of your course (3 years).

Requirements

Successful applicants are required to :

  • accept the award online within 21 days; and,
  • provide an annual report outlining the outcomes and benefits of the scholarship, particularly in relation to leadership intentions and academic achievements.
