First Nations Dance Travel Award

This Award is open to 2nd or 3rd year Aboriginal or Torres Strait Islander students of Dance at the VCA, for travel to their ancestral country and connect with land, culture, identity and familial connections, strengthening and reclaiming cultural identity and inheritance.

    Eligibility

    To be eligible for this scholarship, you must:

    • be an Aboriginal or Torres Strait Islander
    • be enrolled in 2nd or 3rd year Dance in a full time capacity at the Faculty of Fine Art and Music

    Selection criteria

    Eligible applicants will be assessed on the basis of merit by Dance and Wilin Representatives.

What are the benefits?

A single payment of between$5,000 and $10,000 per recipient (dependent upon travel plan).

Successful recipients are required to write a letter of thanks and provide an artistic biography for the donors or trustees. On occasion, recipients will be contacted to provide a progress report.
