Established by the Australian Research Council Centre of Excellence for Families and Children over the Life Course Centre (LCC). The scholarship is open to students enrolled in an Economics Honours Program within the Faculty of Business and Economics

  • Eligibility & selection criteria

    Eligibility

    To be eligible for this scholarship, you need to:

    • Be enrolled in the Economics Honours Program within the Faculty of Business and Economics
    • Be pursuing research relevant to the aims of the Life Course Centre
    • Agree to write Honours thesis (co-)advised by a University of Melbourne LCC Chief Investigator, Associate Investigator, or Research Fellow (list found here)

    Selection criteria

    Student applications will be considered on the basis of:

    1. Academic merit (Weighted Average Mark) from previous study programs
    2. Topic alignment with the LCC interests and goals
    3. Topic match with the proposed LCC advisor or co-advisor(s) research interests
    4. Contribution to a potential research career
  • Application process

    Completed scholarship application should include:

    • A cover letter
    • A one-page proposal of research topic for Honours thesis, clearly addressing criteria's 1 to 4 above.
    • The application should include the name of the eligible LCC advisor.
    • A current resume
    • Academic Record (available from the Student Portal)
  • When will I know the outcome?

    Students will be informed about their application outcome on Thursday 23rd April.

What are the benefits?

Monetary award will be granted to the value of $5,000 with first half of payment to be made at the beginning of May and second half of payment to be made on submission of the thesis draft around Mid-September.
